First Time User Registration for Interlibrary Loan

To request an item through Interlibrary Loan, you must first identify yourself to the library's ILLiad system. To do this you fill out a registration form using your Web browser.
Registration has two purposes:

  • Entering your personal information into the ILLiad system means you will not have to supply the information again when making future requests.
  • Having your e-mail and regular mail addresses on file with Interlibrary Loan enables us to notify you promptly and deliver materials accurately when your request arrives in the library.

FAU Username and Password

During registration, you will be asked to choose a Username and Password. You will use this Username and Password when logging on to the ILLiad system in the future. Your FAU Username may be either the FAU ID you use for Campus Email or your 14 digit Owl Card number. You will use your FAU Username and Password when logging on to the ILLiad system in the future.

FAU Username

FAU Password

You Must use your FAU Username.Your FAU Username may be the FAU ID you use for Campus Email (example: if your email is jsmith@fau.edu, jsmith is your FAU Username) or your 14 digit Owl Card number (Please do not type the letter "A" which appears before and after your 14 digit number).

You may either use your FAU email Password or a unique Password of your choosing -- one that you will easily remember-- for verification. ILLiad will encrypt your password, so it will remain secure. Only you will know your FAU Password.

Illiad will only accept a FAU email address.  Please use your FAU email address to insure proper notification.  Failure to use a FAU email address will STOP the processing of your interlibrary loan request.

FAU students who do not have an FAU email account may obtain one by visiting any computer lab on campus, or by visiting the following web site: http://www.fau.edu/irm/email/.
Non FAU-affiliated users from PBSC South Campus and the Florida Division of Colleges and Universities (DCU) should use a Username and Password of their choosing.

Important Copyright Information

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
