FAU ILLiad is the system used by the FAU Libraries ILL Department to receive, process and track your interlibrary and intralibrary loan requests. Prior to registering as an FAU ILLiad user you must have a valid FAU library card or Owlcard.
FAU Libraries extend Interlibrary Loan privileges to all currently-enrolled students, faculty, and staff of Florida Atlantic University at the Boca Raton, Jupiter, Port St. Lucie and SeaTech campuses. Privileges are also granted to currently-enrolled students, faculty and staff of Palm Beach Community College (South campus), Non-native Fish Research Laboratory staff, and to distance learners from within the Florida Division of Colleges and Universities (DCU) and Florida Community College Systems, once they are issued a valid FAU Library card (or Owlcard).
FAU faculty, staff, and currently-enrolled students at the Davie campus should use the ILL services provided by the University College Library, and those at the Ft. Lauderdale Tower campus should use the ILL services at the Broward County Main Library. FAU Davie and Ft. Lauderdale faculty, staff and students may use the ILL services at the Boca Raton campus library, but must pick up and return materials at the Boca Raton campus library.
Interlibrary Loan privileges are not extended to holders of Friends of the Library or Alumni Library Card holders. These cards provide check-out privileges for items owned by the FAU Libraries only. These individuals, as well as members of the Lifelong Learning Society and other non-affiliated users, may seek ILL services at their local public library.
To request an item through FAU Interlibrary Loan, you must first identify yourself to FAU Library's ILLiad system. To do this you fill out a registration form using your Web browser. Registration has three purposes:
During registration, you will be asked to specify your FAU Username and create a Password. Your FAU Username may be either the FAU ID you use for Campus Email or your 14 digit Owl Card number. You will use your FAU Username and Password when logging on to the ILLiad system in the future.

You Must use your FAU Username for access verification. Your FAU Username may be the FAU ID you use for Campus Email (example: if your email is jsmith@fau.edu, jsmith is your FAU Username) or your 14 digit Owl Card number (Please do not type the letter "A" which appears before and after your 14 digit number).
You may either use your FAU email Password or a unique Password of your choosing -- one that you will easily remember-- for verification. ILLiad will encrypt your password, so it will remain secure. Only you will know your FAU Password.
Attention: FAU students who do not have an FAU email account may obtain one by visiting any computer lab on campus, or by visiting the following web site: http://www.fau.edu/irm/email/.
Non FAU-affiliated users from PBCC South Campus and the Florida Division of Colleges and Universities (DCU) should use a Username and Password of their choosing.
WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
